Scouts Go Farther - Anna Ardigo

Welcome to our Scout Motors employee spotlight featuring Engineer, Cell Stack Integration, Anna Ardigo.

Energy. That’s the word that best defines Anna Ardigo’s, Engineer, Cell Stack Integration, time at Scout Motors. And not just because she’s part of the Energy Systems team.

“There’s an energy to everyone (who works here) that’s unique to Scout Motors, it’s unlike any other project I’ve been a part of,” Anna said. “We’re making a cool product and we all know it — that fuels us. It keeps us motivated and helps the small but mighty battery team rally and get it done when we encounter challenges.”

That “small but mighty” description fits Anna to a tee, too. Her work style is driven by miniature lists — endless sticky notes at her desk marking conquered to-dos and a portable folder of what’s still ahead.

“If it’s on the sticky note, it’ll get done. If it’s not, the outcome is questionable,” Anna laughed. But don’t let the humor fool you: this system keeps her focused, accountable, and always pushing forward.

Her motivation starts at home. As a working mom with three young kids, she and her husband Alex have built what she proudly calls a “nontraditional setup.” He’s an amazing stay-at-home dad, while Anna serves as the primary breadwinner for her
family.

“I’m motivated to be a good role model and provider,” Anna said. “I want to show my kids they can pursue a career while also being a present parent. Nothing melts my heart more than hearing, ‘I wanna be an engineer, like mama.’”

That attitude and determination aligns closely with Figure It Out, the Scout Way value that resonates most with her. She recalled advice she received from a mentor a while back: You don’t have to know it all; you just need to trust your ability to figure it out. That mantra keeps her grounded in the fast-paced world of Scout Motors, where new hurdles and opportunities appear daily.

Work isn’t challenges and problem-solving all the time. She and her teammates make it a priority to live out another Scout Way value: Enjoy It.

Anna and her team’s bond goes far beyond meetings and milestones. They have countless memories together ranging from holiday parties, summer picnics, and potlucks, to trips to the Detroit Auto Show and Scout Motors reveal event. They even host family gatherings where spouses and kids join in. Day to day, they eat lunch together and keep up a lively group chat that brings laughs into the workday.
“Honestly, it’s the best team I’ve ever been a part of,” Anna said.

Vehicles have always been part of Anna’s story, too. Her favorite car was her Chevy Volt, affectionately named Lady. It was her first new car, a sleek hybrid with EV pep and a gas backup.

“I loved the acceleration, the color, the flexibility,” she said. “That’s why I was so excited when we (Scout Motors) announced the Range Extender. It gives you peace of mind while the charging network continues to grow.”

Outside of work, her happy place is quiet and peaceful. On weekend mornings, you’ll find her on her deck with coffee and a fantasy novel, or in the winter curled up with hot cocoa, a blanket, and candlelight while her kids snuggle close. And when the sun sets, there’s usually a strategy board game waiting — sometimes with her husband, sometimes with friends, and often with fellow Scout Motors colleagues who’ve become
her gaming crew.

Ask her about what she’s reading or listening to, and her eyes light up. Her favorite podcast, “The Fantasy Fangirls”, is where she dives deep into the worlds she loves most. “If you want to talk about all the theories for “The Empyrean” series, I’m your gal,”
Anna said.

At Scout Motors, Anna brings the same energy, curiosity and joy she brings to her family, her games, and her books. She doesn’t pretend to have it all figured out. She just trusts her ability to Figure It Out — and keeps rallying her team and herself, one sticky note at a time.
