It’s been worth the wait. Here’s a first look at the concepts that will usher in a new era for Scout Motors.
The two new Scout vehicles are designed and engineered in Michigan and will be manufactured in South Carolina. Buyers of both vehicles will get the option of fully electric models with up to 350 miles of range, or extended range variants projected to offer over 500 miles of range 2 thanks to a small internal combustion engine that acts as a generator for the electric drivetrain.
Bold and rugged in design, the new Scout® Traveler™ SUV and Scout® Terra™ truck honor the spirit of the originals. Both have body-on-frame construction and solid rear axles, and wear paint colors inspired by the first and last Scout vehicles to roll off the assembly line. The difference is that they are projected to do 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, made possible by an estimated nearly 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque.
Both vehicles will have over one foot of ground clearance and be specified with off-road-tuned suspension or air springs with active damping. (For even more capability in the dirt, you can fit tires going up to 35 inches.) And when the going gets tough, just hit the switches for the front sway bar disconnect and the front and rear mechanical locking differentials.
The new Scout vehicles will be multi-use tools that allow customers to accomplish many things. They are being designed for the makers, doers, and everyday explorers. The only question is: which one will suit you best?
The Terra™ truck
With a projected towing capacity of 10,000 pounds and payload of nearly 2,000 pounds, the Terra is a truck designed to work hard and play hard.3
It will be outfitted with a roomy five-foot-five-inch bed, a front-row bench seat, two 120V power outlets and one 240V power outlet. That makes it the perfect companion for camping trips and job sites, or running your home appliances during an outage. There will be an underbody spare tire carrier for sizes up to 33 inches, and you can choose an optional in-bed tire carrier for 35-inch all-terrain rubber.
The new Scout Terra takes cues from the original, with mechanical door handles, grab bars, and switches and dials to provide a hands-on user experience. The trim is smart and durable, right down to the sustainably sourced hemp wood highlights.
Pricing for the entry model Terra starts as low as $51,500 with available incentives. So get to the front of the queue: for a fully refundable $100 reservation fee, you can reserve your early access to a Scout Terra HERE.

The TRAVELER™ SUV
The Scout Traveler is an 8-day-a-week vehicle that wears many hats and gets the job done, from moving family members around to making memories outdoors.
It’s a bold, rugged design with iconic proportions inspired by the original Scout vehicles manufactured by International Harvester from 1961-80. Inside, you’ll get the open-air experience Scout SUVs have always provided, with multiple available roof types. The Cabana Top is targeted to be one of the largest roof openings of any SUV, while the glass roof will give you expansive sky views with the privacy and thermal benefits of a powered shade.
The interior will feature clean, modern lines with durable, sustainable materials. Real knobs and tactile controls will be combined with a digital user interface that is flexible and easy to use. The layout is equally practical, with a multifunctional console and a clever, customizable two-tiered storage system. A split tailgate will give you an extra workbench or picnic bench—plus easy access to the load space while shielding both cargo and little ones from bad weather.
If you need even more load space, the Traveler SUV has you covered with a projected towing capacity of up to 7,000 pounds.3 That’s enough to handle both heavy work trailers and fun-filled toy haulers.
Pricing for the entry model will start from just $50,000 with available incentives.4 Interested? Put your name down to reserve your early access to the Traveler SUV HERE.

The Harvester™ system
Scout Motors knows that many drivers are concerned about range and charging. So the Scout Traveler and Scout Terra can be optioned with an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) energy system called Harvester.
With a small internal combustion engine added to the energy system, the gas-powered engine will recharge the vehicle’s high voltage battery, extending the range to more than an estimated 500 miles.2 It means you can refuel anywhere you can find a pump or a plug, without losing the packaging and performance benefits of a 21st-century electric vehicle.
