ehold, the Silo Edition Scout® Terra™. With every step we take forward, we always look to our past for inspiration. The Silo Green Terra truck brings that legacy into the modern era, showing how our electric revival can still embody the grit and usefulness that defined the originals.
Decades ago, classic Scout vehicles earned their reputation by doing real work. From fencing fields to hauling loads and tools, even crawling through pastures and timber roads, these vehicles were work trucks. Scout trucks spent their weekdays working the farm, then carried the family into town come the weekend. They were practical machines adapting to whatever their owners demanded of them.
The Silo Green Terra truck draws inspiration from our agricultural roots: Scout vehicles were synonymous with “farm truck.” We imagined it purpose-built for the ranch hand, someone who needs real capability and functionality, but still wants a truck with refinement. It’s a work vehicle through and through; engineered to handle long days in the field without sacrificing design and quality. This truck is rugged and ready.
The Terra truck immediately stands out with its bold new Silo Green Metallic paint-–a color carrying the full weight of Scout Motors’ “heritage reimagined” philosophy.
Aileen Barraza, the Design Director leading Color, Materials and Finishes, notes the inspiration as a an evening on a farm. “Imagine a truck driving down a dirt road as a cornfield reflects into the curved metal of a silo at golden hour.” It’s a color shaped by motion; grains and grass, the sunlight reflecting and blending as a truck moves through the landscape. Aileen continues “it’s meant to feel like a day on the farm—warm, rooted, agricultural, yet modern.”
Aileen and team even looked back to historic Scout vehicle colors in a similar tonal family combining three different burnish gold/tan/green colors. From there, the design studio modernized it with contemporary pigments and metallic sparkle. The result is a deep green with heavy gold metal flake, a more-than-three-stage paint that shifts from green to gold depending on sun angle and form. It’s intentionally active and perfectly highlights the Terra truck’s body lines and stance.

Taylor Langhals, Chief Exterior Designer who led much of the accessory and exterior work, describes the Silo Edition Terra truck as “the ranch hand, the eight-day-a-week truck.” It works overtime. We designed the Terra truck as a functional tool, drawing inspiration from people who actually use their trucks, for trucks sake.
Everything about the Silo edition Terra truck is engineered to reinforce its work-ready identity. It starts with a confident off-road stance. We mounted 37-inch BFGoodrich® all-terrain T/A KO3 tires on 18-inch steel wheels to give the truck immediate capability. Continued up front, we added a bull bar with integrated tow hooks and a shackle point for real recovery and towing needs. Even off-road side steps are intended to provide practical access without compromising clearance.
We knew a roof rack would be useful, so we attached one up top and integrated forward lighting, as well as rear chase lights. You know, for working late or nights on the dusty trails. The rear lights also feature a smart pivot function, allowing them to tilt downward and help when loading in the dark. We know, we thought of everything.
In the bed, the new Scout supply cargo box anchors a broader ecosystem of modular “go boxes,” each designed for specific tasks. This cargo box comes stocked with Scout Motors designed tools—an axe, shovel, lantern, and binoculars—each built to be rugged, functional, and purposeful, enforcing the Terra truck’s role as an all-day, everyday utility machine.
The modularity also hints at the future of Scout vehicle accessories, imagining a unified system of Scout Motors-designed gear that mounts to both your garage wall and directly into the truck. Inside, that thinking continues with gear mounting panels and attachment points allowing racks for tools, gear, even hiking or ski equipment to just “snap in”. It’s a functional design system meant to reflect real use.
Continued inside, the Terra truck’s identity comes into even sharper focus through a series of material choices and tactile upgrades shaped by Aileen’s Color, Material and Finish team. Terracotta accents warm the instrument panel, doors, seats, and steering wheel, while a new textured headliner—woven with tan, gray, and brown tones—adds depth and durability.
Ruggedized toggles, knobs, and a refined overhead console with an updated compass bring a more tactile, work-ready feel. We even added some auxiliary switches for whatever else you might want to add.
Notably, the Terra concept incorporates a hemp-based wood material throughout the interior. This is a sustainable material created from agricultural hemp byproducts bound with a soy-based resin. Used on the dash and door panels, the material is a physical expression, again, of what Aileen calls Scout Motors’ “heritage reimagined”—a modern, responsible take on natural materials rooted in farming and the American landscape.
We designed the Terra truck as a functional tool, drawing inspiration from people who actually use their trucks, for trucks sake.
Together, all of these upgrades elevate the Terra concept from a clean, modern truck to something more lived-in and purposeful—a vehicle meant for real work, real weather, and real miles. We created the Silo Edition Terra truck to show off what a work-ready Scout vehicle can be: capable, functional, and tailored to a life built around getting things done.
We believe that customization isn’t just about decoration—it’s about purpose. It bridges heritage and modernity, showing how a single platform can shift naturally between work-focused functionality and lifestyle-driven identity.
Scout Motors is carving a niche that appeals to legacy enthusiasts who celebrate the original Scout heritage as well as inspiring a new generation of buyers by offering true, work-ready features. Scout Motors doesn’t want to simply build another truck; we want to build your truck.
