June 2026 Scout Motors Production Center Update

JUNE 2026 - Blythewood, South Carolina

Welcome to our monthly progress update on the construction of the new Scout Motors Production Center.

In March 2023, we announced our plans to bring Scout® vehicles back to American roads—built at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Blythewood, South Carolina. Spanning more than 1,100 acres and located just 20 minutes northeast of Columbia, the site was thoughtfully chosen for its strong community, workforce, and infrastructure.

This $2 billion investment represents more than a factory—it’s a long-term commitment to the region, expected to create more than 4,000 permanent jobs. At full capacity, the Production Center will be capable of building up to 200,000 vehicles annually, or roughly 40 vehicles every hour.

We’re excited to take you along as this vision becomes reality and to share the latest progress as construction continues.

As shown above, our Production Center is anchored by key facilities including the Body Shop, Paint Shop, and Final Assembly buildings. The site also features a state-of-the-art training center for our employees and a dedicated supplier park.

We continue to make progress in the construction phase while advancing production readiness for the assembly of the new Scout vehicles: Scout Traveler™, a full-size SUV, and Scout Terra™, a full-size pickup truck. The new Scout trucks are designed to be built on a newly developed, rugged, body-on-frame vehicle platform. Each truck will be available with either an extended-range Harvester™ option with a gasoline engine, targeting up to 500 miles of range 1, or a battery-electric model with an estimated 350-mile range.2

We are now accepting $100, fully refundable reservations to hold your spot in line for the new Scout trucks.3 To learn more about each vehicle, you can click on the images below.

In the photo above, you can see continued progress across our production center property. Industrial air conditioning units are finished on the Body Shop build and continue to be installed across the roof of the Assembly Building. Progress continues on the supplier buildings in the upper right-hand corner of the photo, with air-conditioning units installed and access roads beginning to be built.

Last September Scout Motors announced an additional investment of $300 million in South Carolina to build a Supplier Park on the site of its Production Center in Blythewood. This initiative, which does not come with any new government incentives, is expected to support approximately 1,000 additional supplier jobs and represents a critical expansion of the company’s existing investment of more than $2 billion in the state.

The Supplier Park will serve as a central logistics and production hub, supporting seamless delivery of parts, batteries, and accessories to Scout Motors’ main assembly operations. The size and scope of the park reflect Scout Motors’ strategy to build a fully integrated, domestic supply chain for its trucks and SUVs.

Body Shop

A significant milestone was reached this month with the first testing of a welded Traveler body completed in the Body Shop. Scott Keogh, CEO of Scout Motors had this to say in a message sent out to reservation holders:

“We’ve had many firsts on our way to delivering Scout vehicles. We hired our first production associates. We received our first parts. We turned the lights on in our factory for the first time.

Today marks another one: the first time welding a vehicle body at our Production Center in Blythewood, South Carolina.

No, this isn’t a vehicle that will end up in driveways, campsites, or trailheads. But it is helping us prove something just as important: how we’ll build every Scout vehicle that follows.

Running these processes allows us to validate our engineering before customer production begins.

Every weld, every component, and every lesson learned helps us improve the way we build and gets us one step closer to delivering Scout vehicles in 2028.

There’s still plenty of work ahead. But for the first time, our factory isn’t just being built … it’s building.”

Paint Shop

Our Paint Shop (above and below) shows significant progress, with carriers installed and lighting and paint systems in ongoing installation.
