hen we revived the legendary Scout® brand with the debut of two concept vehicles, it captured the imagination of auto enthusiasts across America—and the world.

We’ve taken inspiration from the design and utility of the original Scout vehicles and  created the Terratruck and TravelerSUV. They’re rugged, versatile vehicles that  blend traditional functionality with modern technology.

Many truck aficionados are intrigued by the Terra pickup. So, here’s the lowdown on the  key design features and specifications, including capacities and capabilities,  functionality, and pricing.1

The power you need and the range you want

The instant-on power of an electric vehicle is a huge asset in a truck. But for many  people, so is long-distance range. That’s why we’re offering the Terra with two energy  systems: all-electric, and range-extended.

Both setups will propel the Terra from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in as little as 3.5  seconds.2 You have four-wheel-drive and nearly 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque1 at your disposal.

If zero-emissions driving is the most important thing for you, choose the fully electric  model. On a single charge, it’s projected to deliver up to 350 miles of whisper-quiet  range.3

If you’re into long-haul driving, select the Extended Range Option that uses our  groundbreaking Harvesterenergy system. The Terra’s high-voltage battery is  recharged by a small gas engine, projecting to lengthen the range to over 500 miles.3 You will get the performance benefits of an electric drivetrain plus the reassuring  backup of a fuel-based system.

When it’s time to plug in, the Terra will support the popular and widespread North  American Charging System (NACS). The plug hooks into an 800-volt architecture with a  charging capability of up to 350 kW. Designed for you to get fast charging times and  Vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality—so you can use the Terra as a backup power source  for your worksite, campsite, and home.

The Scout Terra has a classic body-on frame chassis, to deliver robust performance in the harshest environments.

Built for the toughest conditions

Sometimes the traditional way is the best. So the Scout Terra has a classic body-on frame chassis, to deliver robust performance in the harshest environments. The truck  will be equipped with a solid rear axle and mechanical lockers on both the front and rear  axles, for outstanding performance on rugged terrain.

Anticipating over 12 inches of ground clearance, allowing you to tackle rocky landscapes and muddy trails with confidence.4 The planned fording depth is almost  three feet, enough to cross streams or navigate through deep snow.4

The Terra will come with 33-inch tires, but if you want even more off-road capability, we will offer all-terrain tires up to 35 inches fitted at the factory.4 (The Terra is designed with an underbody spare tire carrier for sizes up to 33 inches, and an optional in-bed carrier for 35-inchers.)4 Other suspension options will include a front sway bar disconnect,  enhancing flexibility in exceptionally challenging conditions.5

Take your stuff with you

The Scout Terra has a roomy 5.5-foot pickup bed, making it easy to transport everything  from building and landscaping materials to bikes to camping gear. There are also two  120V power outlets and one 240V outlet—which you can use to power heavy-duty tools  at a jobsite, or keep your home appliances running during an outage.

The anticipated towing capacity of over 10,000 pounds2, makes it easy to haul travel or  flatbed trailers, boats, or other substantial loads. And the estimated payload is nearly  2,000 pounds2—more than enough for an extended camping trip.

Classy yet functional design

The design of the Terra is a nod to its illustrious forebears. But under the hood, it’s  packed with practical modern thinking and robust technology. This is a truck designed  for tradespeople and contractors, as well as off-road enthusiasts and families. The bold,  rugged look comes from function rather than fashion, right down to the signature short  front overhang and long dash-to-axle ratio.

The front trunk has room for a toolbox, a gym bag, and a small cooler. You can juice up  multiple devices with the 120V and USB-C outlets. And you’ll be able to choose from  several roof types, including a glass roof or a Cabana Top. If you enjoy the open-air  breeze, just retract the rear window.

The Terra hits the sweet spot in size. It’s big enough to transport your gear, but not so  big that it becomes cumbersome. It’s both practical and maneuverable. This is a  vehicular multi-tool that doesn’t rely on plastic cladding or tacky adornments to signal its  capability.

To honor the Scout II™, we’ve also added classic details, like toggle switches and tactile knobs for many of the controls. Because let’s face it, flipping a switch is way more satisfying than trawling through endless menu screens.

Simple and bold interior design, fit for purpose

The Terra’s interior strikes a balance between resilience and refined design. The lines  are clean, and the materials are both durable and sustainable. And there’s clever,  innovative technology to enhance your driving experience, rather than intrude on it.

Stretch out in a cabin designed for both comfort and functionality. Opt for the  multifunctional center console to maximize storage, or go with classic front bench seats  for a vintage touch and room for three across.

The touchscreen and digital instrument cluster are engineered for ease of use. Linked  through the Scout Community UX™ interface, they allow you to tailor key settings to suit  your personal style.

With over-the-air (OTA) updates and remote diagnostic tools, the system will stay fresh  and functional, ensuring long-term reliability. High-resolution camera systems and  helpful driver-assistance features make driving secure and stress-free.

Configure your “8-day-a-week truck”

Everybody has their own tastes and preferences, from colors to loadouts. So, you’ll be  able to personalize your Terra, straight from the factory, with an extensive array of  options and accessories.6

There will even be an optional off-road package, including all-terrain tires, special shock  tuning, a locking front differential, and more.v You will also be able to choose extra  lighting for improved visibility, and off-road ancillaries like sturdy recovery points, heavy duty winches, and heftier bumpers.5

Whether navigating challenging trails or cruising through cityscapes, the Scout Terra is  a do-it-all vehicle for adventurers and families alike.
